One of my favorite events to attend during pregnancy, postpartum, and during the baby’s early years are the baby shows! They are a one-stop destination for all things baby, infant, and toddler! These show organizers bring together various vendors and service providers offering a range of selections and information for moms, dads, and new parents. When I was expecting my son about six years ago, I attended my first baby show and haven’t missed any since! Most shows I attend are in Toronto, however, recently, I attended the Womb to Walking Baby Show in Kitchener, Waterloo, Ontario.
About the Show
This was the first in-person show I attended since the pandemic hit almost two years ago. The Womb to Walking Baby Show is organized by KW Moms Club and hosted at the Bingemans Conference Centre. The show had over 50 vendors selling products and/or services. The best part was they were all small business vendors (mostly local to the Kitchener/Waterloo area) versus big-box retailers or wholesalers who I have usually seen at all the other shows I have attended. All baby-related products include but are not limited to teething products, baby feeding pillows, and blankets, accessories, hospital bag kits, milk bottles, etc. Services included sleep consultants, nursing or lactation consultants, RESP representatives, photography, birth doulas, and daycare services. My personal favorite vendors in the keepsake category included jewelry and custom portraits.
Tickets & Swag Bags
The best part of the show was that the entry to the show was FREE! To keep the crowd in check (thanks to the C virus) they had timed tickets with a two-hour entry window. There were also limited swag bags which were for $10 and VIP bags for $38. As a freebie-loving mom, I purchased both the bags to get my hands on some awesome samples and full-sized products which were sponsored by the vendors from the show!
Shopping Spree
In the swag bags, I got some amazing samples and swags including a hand-held silicon brush, post-partum birthing bath, store cards, teether, balloons, scrunchie, and postpartum care kit with mesh underpants and disposable pads, Aleva natural sample wipes, etc. from the show vendors.
I went gaga shopping for baby T! Here is all that I got from the show:
- Teething necklace, clips, and teethers from Habuntie Hand Made
- Feeding pillow and cover from Baby Lu and Company
- Grabbed some Sudo diaper rash creams and diaper disposal bags (can’t forger tons of free samples) from Storkpak
- Peri-bottle for postpartum care from Healing Mama Co
- Cute headband accessories from Chlo Zo Bow Co
- Ordered a custom portrait from Kindressence Studio
- Learned more about keepsake breastmilk and DNA jewelry from Tor’s Jewelry and Keepsakes (can’t wait to order mine once baby T is here)
- Got my son’s picture taken on-site by Janelle Joy Studios. They offered one complimentary edited image from the shoot!
Other booths that I liked to visit were Little Blue Fern – baby products such as silicon dinnerware, teethers, etc. The Nest & Milky Mama – breastfeeding consultation/lactation support and more. Bump, Baby & Toddler Expo, Hamilton – another baby show organizer for Kitchener/Waterloo area.
Kids Entertainment & Other HighlightsThe show had character visits by Woody, Jessie, Elsa & Mirabel organized by Fairytale Parties. There was a play area set up for kids with foam blocks and slides by Play-a-Latte Cafe! I loved this as my son was playing there when I went around shopping! The highlight of the show was the baby & toddler fashion show! Cuties walking the ramp took my breath away!
